How does a homeschooler change a light bulb?

Graham's school play..isn't he tall?

Opening some gifts

Some baking with Grandma and cousins

The little girls, talking over some lunch!
Each day, I have this thought..What to post? I actually think of things to write, sit down, and then usually get back up to do a list of things I forgot to do, before sitting down. SO today, I am posting a few pictures from the holidays..I have more to come. The kids did a Christmas play at their "Wednesday school", The other two did a song with the lights out and only flashlights..not a good picture. But Graham, did a musical with a cane. He did great and looked about a year older than everyone else. He is so tall! We did a lot of baking at my mom and dad's house this year. We had so much fun making Christmas cookies with our cousins. And then of course, Quinn is sitting in Cozy's high chair and this seems to suit them just fine. Cozy thinks she's older and Quinn likes the company. And below..the main reason why, I home school. I love to get the most out of a project and this is a perfect example!
This cracks me up! I wish I was this thorough, however, it does show how anything can be a learning adventure!
"Q: How does a homeschooler change a light bulb?
A: First, mom checks out three books at the library on electricity, then the kids make models of light bulbs, read a biography of Thomas Edison and do a skit based on his life. Next, everyone studies the history of lighting methods, wrapping up with dipping their own candles. Then, everyone takes a trip to the store where they compare types of light bulbs as well as prices and figure out how much change they'll get if they buy two bulbs for $1.99 and pay with a five-dollar bill. On the way home, a discussion develops over the history of money and the Federal Reserve System, and also Abraham Lincoln as his picture is on the five-dollar bill. Finally, after building a homemade ladder out of branches dragged from the woods, the light bulb is installed. And there is light."
